Iran’s N.Chief: Uranium Enrichment Not to Be ‘Curtailed’

ABNA24 - Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami said Tehran’s uranium enrichment will not be curtailed, adding that the United States and Israel won’t succeed in restricting the country's nuclear program.

The US and Israel will never stop Tehran’s uranium enrichment, Eslami said Thursday."The assertions and demands of the adversaries aiming to limit Iran's enrichment program are nothing but dreams that will go to the grave with them," he added.

The remarks came as the White House has announced that the United States continues to deny any uranium enrichment inside Iran, reiterating that US President Donald Trump did not agree to a “wish list” submitted by Tehran. The White House Spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, claimed on Wednesday that the 10-point proposal put forward by Iran as the basis for a ceasefire differs from the proposal published by the government in Tehran. In the early hours of Wednesday, after 40 days of war, Iran and the United States agreed to a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan and the resumption of negotiations based on Tehran's 10-point proposal.Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has announced in a statement that almost all of Tehran’s war objectives have been achieved, stressing that Washington has been forced to accept a 10-point Iranian proposal that includes a permanent ceasefire, the lifting of all sanctions, Iran’s right to enrich uranium and the withdrawal of American soldiers from West Asia.Domestic uranium enrichment has been a major sticking point in previous talks between Tehran and Washington. While Iran says it is not seeking nuclear weapons, it insists on enriching its own uranium as a national right.

The nuclear official stated that the war waged by Israel and the US against Iran has yielded no results, and now they seek concessions from Tehran during negotiations.
